Point Of Perspective

Project

Point of Perspective is an interactive installation that works with motion tracking sensors, to create a piece that challenges both: the audiences gaze and our contemporary notions, of what constitutes modern art and gallery space.

The piece consists of three blank white canvases arranged on a gallery wall, with a small descriptive tag. As the spectator moves to read the description, a trigger is activated and the canvas comes alive. A dancer appears in front of the spectator accompanied by music. As the spectator watches the dancer, her performance becomes more animated, she moves across all three canvases, causing the spectator to change their position relative to the dancer’s position in space.

Through a constantly changing point of perspective guided by the installation, the piece challenges the viewers notion of what is contemporary art in the age of digital interactivity.
